Every splash, every session, every moment—empowering growth, one step at a time.

Welcome — I'm So Glad You're Here
Hi, I’m Maty Tuttle, MSW, Founder of Starfish Therapy SWFL, a social worker and swim instructor with a passion for walking alongside people as they navigate life’s challenges. Whether you're here seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family — welcome. It can be difficult to find the right therapist and it can feel uncomfortable beginning this journey. Therapy is an investment — of your time, your energy, and your heart — and I believe it should feel safe, personal, built on a foundation of trust, and aligned with your needs.
Trust takes time, and healing isn’t linear. But if you're here, you’ve already taken a powerful first step.
My Approach
I offer therapy services to children, teens, young adults, and adults, using a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach. My experience includes serving individuals in a variety of capacities, from working in a shelter setting supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking, to providing mental health services in private practice, I had the privilege of supporting clients through anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, and relational challenges.
My work is rooted in meeting you where you are — with compassion, curiosity, and without judgment. I don’t come with a checklist or a one-size-fits-all solution. I come ready to walk with you at your pace.
The Heart Behind the Work
Empowering Growth: One Step at a Time
My practice is inspired by the Starfish Story — the idea that even helping one person, one moment at a time, can make a meaningful difference. Whether I’m supporting a child learning emotional regulation or guiding an adult through grief and identity work, I believe in the power of small, consistent steps toward healing.
You deserve a space where you can be your full, authentic self — heard, seen, and supported.
Looking for swim lessons for your child? I also offer confidence-based swim instruction with the same intentionality and care. Head over to the Swim Lessons page to learn more.
